Carina is a female Magellanic penguin. A loyal captain of General Elil's army, Carina is a recurring antagonist/antihero in Happy Feet: Protectors of Emperor Land. She is voiced by Karen Gillan.

- Carina is voiced by Karen Gillan. Gillan was originally considered for the voice of Chrysta before Idina Menzel was eventually cast.
- Carina has a three-clawed scar on her right flipper/shoulder. This is her identification mark, given to her by Elil.
- When around Elil and Dagmar, Carina speaks with a soft, slightly husky American accent, similar to the character Nebula (also played by Gillan) from the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy. This is presumably in order to appear more disciplined in the presence of her superiors. However, as shown in her private conversations with Hellas, Carina truly speaks with a strong Scottish accent, similar to her voice actress.
